"Job Action Project"

The project started on January 1, 2026, with 11 participants. During the month, one participant left due to starting a new job, so currently 10 places are filled. Five places are vacant.

We kicked off the new project with a group meeting to get to know each other and discuss the project.

Following this, the participants were introduced to the workshop activities. This initially focused on learning about safety regulations, the proper use of tools and machines, and the correct handling of materials.

This year's project is being carried out in cooperation with various kindergartens and schools from the Donnersberg district. Several construction projects will be undertaken in consultation with our partners.

We started with the project "Construction of four kindergarten benches with integrated tables" for the St. Elisabeth Kindergarten in Eisenberg.

For this project, the participants cut, planed, and milled the boards to size. The individual wooden elements were then painted several times in different colors to achieve optimal coverage.

Using templates, the side supports were mounted to brackets with carriage bolts. In the final step, the participants assembled the benches and the table.

In the training program, the first sessions began with a career interest test, including evaluation and subsequent discussion. This test helped the young people identify professions that might align with their personal interests and strengths. It also revealed professions that the participants hadn't previously considered.

Furthermore, the training sessions began with an introductory general knowledge test.

To improve concentration, focus, and effective logical thinking, various exercises were conducted with the participants.

As part of the social-pedagogical support, individual consultations were held with the young people to analyze their situation and prepare for ongoing support planning. The initial test results were then incorporated into this support plan.

On January 19, 2026, we also visited the International Postal Center (IPZ) in Frankfurt with our participants. Here, we gained valuable insights into the requirements of warehouse logistics.

We were shown how the various mail items are sorted and packaged for onward shipping. We also received a brief overview of the customs area.

Report: Project "JobAction" launched

“Job Action”: Project of the Gemeinnützigen Beschäftigungs- und Qualifizierungsgesellschaft launched with still vacancies.

The "Job Action" project, run by the Donnersberg district's Gemeinnützigen Beschäftigungs- und Qualifizierungsgesellschaft, has restarted at the beginning of the new year. The aim of this initiative is to provide personal and practical skills training and prepare young people under 30 who are not currently in school, vocational training, or employment for the job market. Entry into the project is possible at any time, and there are still places available this year. So seize the opportunity now!

Since January 2005, the Gemeinnützigen Beschäftigungs- und Qualifizierungsgesellschaft (GBQ) has been working closely with the Donnersbergkreis Job Center. It also collaborates with other social services and institutions in the Donnersbergkreis district. The employment and training company has two locations in Alsenz and Marnheim. Through many years of experience in training and employing the long-term unemployed in various occupational fields, it possesses a broad range of expertise and know-how.

“With the Gemeinnützigen Beschäftigungs- und Qualifizierungsgesellschaft, we want to support these people in particular and accompany them during their transition to work and training. We repeatedly succeed in placing young people in training or employment,” says Judith Schappert, the office manager of the district administration of the Donnersberg district and managing director of the Beschäftigungs- und Qualifizierungsgesellschaft.

To address this issue, the "Job Action" project was relaunched at the Donnersberg district's Gemeinnützigen Beschäftigungs- und Qualifizierungsgesellschaft at the start of the new year. The project aims to provide young people with support tailored to their individual needs. Working within the project is intended to boost their self-esteem.

Based on the positive experiences of last year, the project work with daycare centers and schools in the region will continue. Plans include the construction of various wooden projects such as mud kitchens, wooden pergolas, storage bins, raised beds, and wooden toys, as well as nature-based activities in the outdoor areas. Further components of "Job Action" include experiential team-building events, workshops on topics such as "How to manage money" and "How to run a household," support for individual career planning, career guidance and application training, language and computer skills training, development of soft skills such as punctuality and reliability, individual social and educational support, and company internships.

The project, which is scheduled to run until December 31, 2026, is funded by the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Transformation and Digitalization of Rhineland-Palatinate using funds from the European Social Fund Plus and co-financed by the European Union. The project also receives support from the Donnersbergkreis Job Center and the Donnersberg district.
