Newsletter July `24
"Job Action Project"
At the end of July, the number of participants in the project was 13 young people, leaving two places vacant. Two participants were placed in jobs at the beginning of the month, while one participant's project was terminated in July due to a lack of co-operation. Three participants completed an internship.
The young people continued to work diligently on the project. In the Celtic village, the screw connections were checked and partially renewed to ensure the stability of the tower. The tower was also given a rain drain. The first preparations were made for this, including pre-drilling the holes in the tower roof.
Another focus of the work was the cleaning and maintenance of the Celtic village. The clay houses were further plastered, the outdoor area was maintained, the granary was cleared out and the beams were thoroughly cleaned.
The socio-educational counsellors held individual and group discussions as well as support planning sessions. The participants were supported in their various life situations and problems. Telephone and job application training was continued in individual coaching sessions. The counselling also included support for participants on work placements and company visits.
In cooperation with the job centre, a job interview was held for potentially interested participants. This resulted in two job interviews.
Literacy was continued in German lessons. The first letters learnt were joined together using syllables and simple sentence formation was taught. The young people's understanding of the language has already improved as a result of their regular participation in lessons, so that two participants took part in a placement test for the language course with good results and will probably be able to join the school and second language course at the end of the summer holidays.
