Newsletter February `23
"Job Action" project

In February, the number of participants remained constant at 12, with one more participant joining at the end of February. Currently, 13 young people are participating in the project and two places are still vacant.

With the newly added participant, the first thing was to teach the basics, while the other participants worked diligently in the project. For example, window mobiles were made from natural materials and sewing work was done (to bridge the bad weather conditions), maintenance work and gardening and landscaping activities were carried out at the Park of the Senses. In addition, at the adventure playground in Dannenfels, trees were cut and lopped to make room for the actual playground equipment. The next steps were the dismantling of the boards on the slide in the forest and the complete dismantling of the slide. In a further step, the slide is to be rebuilt in a new place specially prepared for this purpose.

In the context of socio-educational support, many individual case discussions took place. Goal formulations in the help plan processes were addressed. The participants were accompanied to appointments and joint discussions took place at the job centre. The new case manager of the Job Centre also introduced himself at the premises of the employment agency. This appointment was used for a detailed exchange and handover discussion.

The participants were supported in the application process. Job research was carried out and applications were jointly prepared and sent.

Three project participants completed internships in February. One participant worked at the Kirchheimbolanden senior citizens' residence in the field of geriatric care. One participant worked as a seamstress at the Donnersberger Industriepolster Kamy and one participant worked as a carpenter at the Holzwerk in Rockenhausen.

Training sessions on the rights and duties of trainees were held with all participants of the project. On 03.02.2023, a joint trip to the Chamber of Crafts in Kaiserslautern took place for the "Training Day". In the context of this, the young people were able to inform themselves about various apprenticeship occupations.
